Creating the art of Mindfullness

A bit more then a year ago, I have started with arranging bouquets, and I really liked bouquets arranged in a style inspired by Ikebana, the Japanese philosophy and art of arranging flowers.

I‘m still a beginner with but if anything I have learned is,that I need to begin without an expectation of how it should look like in the end. It taught me, that I need to work with a beginners mind, that I need to entrust myself to the process.

I try to forget everything I know for a moment, and I just do what needs to be done in this moment, pick this twig, cut this stem, bend this flower, add this grass or twig… and for a while the only world which is there is this bouquet and me. I feel relaxed and released due to creating art.

And this experience is so rewarding that I try to make an art of more things in my life. An art of cooking and an art of washing the dishes… and art of ironing and all of those things get a beauty and a certain bliss as I can really feel alive, I am really there in this very moment for a moment.

I thing they call it mindfulness what I have found and all I can say is: I want to create the art of mindfulness more in my life
